Peter has worked in the electricity industry since joining National Grid’s transmission charges group in 1990. In 1996 he moved to New Zealand (NZ) as an advisor on transmission charges to the NZ transmission owner Transpower and later became involved in the development of the NZ electricity market. Since then he has worked in the UK and overseas, including South Korea, China, Kosovo, Montenegro, Turkey and Ireland, in market design and implementation, trading disputes and market regulation, system operations and ancillary services, asset valuation and price control and system operator contracts.
In the UK Peter was part of the Ofgem/DTI NETA design and implementation programme working on the BSC and associated documents. He advised on MRA admission for a large supplier and supported a large generator in market arrangements. He worked with the DTI on fuel security and emergency codes and was Elexon’s Trading Disputes Manager for a period.
For Cornwall Energy Associates Peter is involved in transmission and distribution, especially system operator and charging areas. Peter provides meeting reports on an ad-hoc basis for the sessions he attends.
