Senior partner for markets Andrew Wright warns suppliers to comply with the obligation “otherwise we will take stronger action”. The Government says an announcement on the future of five proposed projects competing for support in the Severn Estuary will be made in the autumn. EDF Energy confirms that with effect from 1 October it will be implementing a price increase of 2.6% to some of its regional electricity tariffs. Prior to the Bank Holiday, DECC publishes plans for licensing carbon storage under the seabed. It confirms the licence will operate in a similar way to the existing regime for oil and gas exploration and will come into effect on 1 October. The Government also outlines additional information on the Energy Security and Green Economy Bill, which will centre on the Green Deal. The Bill will also create an Energy Company Obligation to replace the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target from 2012.
